It started with a bag of green beans and a whole lot of free time. Funny how the best things start that way.

 

 

How It All Started

Like a lot of people, we found ourselves at home during COVID with more time on our hands than we knew what to do with. Things were closed. Plans were cancelled. The world had basically hit pause.

So we did what curious people do when they're bored — we started experimenting. Someone picked up a bag of green coffee beans and a cheap roaster and thought, "how hard can this be?"

Turns out, pretty hard. The first few batches were rough. We're talking burnt, uneven, and honestly a little smoky in ways that weren't great. But something clicked. The more we learned about roast profiles, origins, and the science behind a good cup, the more obsessed we got. What started as something to kill time on a Tuesday became the thing we looked forward to every day.

By the time the world opened back up, we didn't want to stop. The hobby had turned into a craft. The craft turned into a standard. And the standard turned into Empower Coffee Company.

 

What It Grew Into

We never set out to start a coffee brand. But the more we roasted, the more we realized that most of what was sitting on grocery store shelves didn't come close to what fresh, carefully roasted coffee could taste like. We wanted to share that.

Empower Coffee is about more than the cup — it's about what the cup represents. Early mornings. Late nights. The discipline to show up even when you don't feel like it. We built this brand for people who move with intention, and we roast every batch with that same energy.

It's been quite a journey from those first smoky experiments to where we are today — and honestly, we're just getting started.
